CenEA is the Polish node of the SITE Network, a group of academic research institutions established by the Stockholm Institute of Transition Economics (SITE).

The SITE Network, with the extensive academic and institutional network of the Stockholm Institute of Transition Economics, strives to promote stimulating and sustainable academic environments capable of attracting research talent from around the world and to build local capacity in research in economics and governance in the countries of Central and Eastern Europe.

The Stockholm Institute of Transition Economics:

Since its foundation in 1989, SITE has become a leading research and policy center on transition in Central and Eastern Europe. SITE leads the process of developing means of measuring institutional change and the role of institutions in transition and developing countries by engaging national governments, industry, international financial institutions, nongovernmental organizations, and fellow academics in a vibrant dialogue about making institutions more effective.
SITE works together with governments to formulate policy options, monitor implementation of reforms, and evaluate outcomes. It is also interacting with business to understand the business environment and how to improve it. With a range of activities, from our corporate governance initiative to our involvement in the monitoring of Russian deregulation, our aim is to help decision-makers find innovative solutions to policy problems.
